Combat Karting celebrates its Newcastle launch with an electric debut

A new go-karting experience in Newcastle is set to prove a hit with adrenaline-junkies following its launch alongside a track upgrade and fleet of new electric karts.

Electric Combat Karts, which is described as bringing one of the nation's favourite racing video games to life, has been launched by TeamSport Newcastle in Scotswood Road and is offering racers an interactive experience which will see them complete laps and try to win speed boosts - and also slow down their competitors - by driving over specific spots on the fast-action track.

Powered by Game of Karts, and said to be the first of its kind in the UK, the 40mph indoor attraction has been launched as part of a £1.2m refurbishment of TeamSport's city home, in an upgrade which includes the new fleet of 'Sodi RSX2' electric vehicles. The karting company boasts two professionally-designed circuits in total, including a redesigned 500m multi-level track with 12 corners and plenty of straights for speed-lovers.
