The Indianapolis Colts were one of several teams to have scouts in attendance at Kentucky versus Ole Miss on Saturday, according to Bleacher Report’s Ryan Fowler.
Some of the other teams with representatives in attendance included the Houston Texans, Minnesota Vikings, Baltimore Ravens, Atlanta Falcons, and others.
For all NFL teams, this is a common practice throughout the college football season and I would guess that this isn’t the only game where the Colts had members of their personnel department at.
With help from Pro Football Focus’ early 2025 big board, here are some of the top draft prospects playing in this game for Kentucky:
IDL Deone Walker
CB Maxwell Hairston
LB Jamon Dumas-Johnson
G Jager Burton
And from Ole Miss, here are the top draft eligible prospects, according to PFF:
Edge Princely Umanmielen
WR Antwane Wells
QB Jaxson Dart
WR Tre Harris
IDL Walter Nolen
TE Caden Prieskorn
The obvious is that trying to get a beat on where a majority of the prospects in the upcoming draft will go is a nearly impossible task. Between the rest of the college football season and the pre-draft process, a lot will change.
The same could be said for some of the Colts’ perceived positional needs as well. However, as of now, both cornerback and safety remain big question marks and could use improved depth as well
Tight end is another position where the Colts could use more consistent impact, and although they’ve invested into the defensive front, the depth at defensive tackle, specifically against the run, has had it’s issues early on this year.
Some notable upcoming free agents for the Colts in 2025 include EJ Speed, Julian Blackmon, Ryan Kelly, Mo Alie-Cox, Kylen Granson, and Dayo Odeyingbo.
