Colts vs Bills: Buffalo WR Keon Coleman’s Week 10 status up in the air

The Indianapolis Colts return back home on Sunday for a Week 10 matchup with the 7-2 Buffalo Bills, who may be without rookie receiver Keon Coleman.

In the Bills’ Week 9 victory over the Miami Dolphins, Coleman would exit the game late with a wrist injury. He then did not practice on Wednesday.

When Buffalo head coach Sean McDermott was asked about Coleman’s status moving forward, he didn’t rule Coleman out of this week’s game with Indianapolis. However, McDermott did elude that the injury could potentially sideline Coleman beyond just this week.

“I think it could be more than just this week, but again, I’ll know more as the evaluation is still ongoing,” McDermott told reporters on Wednesday.

Coleman was the 33rd overall pick in this past April’s draft out of Florida State. He’s caught 61. percent of his 36 targets, has totaled 417 yards–the second-most on the team–along with three touchdowns.

Lining up primarily on the boundary, Coleman has been a big play threat for the Bills’ offense averaging a hefty 19.0 yards per catch, and has been one of the best receivers in football at picking up yards after the catch, ranking second in average YAC.

With the growth from Jaylon Jones this season along with the emergence of Samuel Womack, the duo has provided some stability to a position group for the Colts that came with numerous unknowns entering the season.

However, with that said, opponents have still had success putting up yards on this Colts’ secondary, with Indianapolis ranking 26th in yards per pass attempt allowed and 26th in total passing yards per game surrendered entering Week 10.
