The Indianapolis Colts (9-7) held on to defeat the Las Vegas Raiders (7-9) on Sunday, 23-20, at Lucas Oil Stadium.
After scoring a touchdown during the opening drive, the Colts held the lead for the entire game and didn’t look back. They entered halftime with a 14-3 lead and even though they didn’t score a touchdown during the second half, they were able to do enough to hold on for a home win.
With the victory, the Colts five themselves a chance to make the playoffs when they host the Houston Texans (9-7) at home for the Week 18 regular-season finale.

With all the injuries all around… back up minshew. I can’t believe they been doing this! Great coaching! Love my colts! https://t.co/hHpZgRv9Pt

This was a mega-stressful game, and was *this* close to a trap game
– Minshew was 🤷♂️
– Offense kinda existed?
– EJ Speed almost cost us this game
– Defense overall was meh, but still flashed
– Still excellent coaching by Steichen, though you wish for AR at times https://t.co/YPpDS293NK— Luke Rochevot (@LukeRochevot) December 31, 2023
☝🏾more and we’re in 😮💨💪🏾! #ForTheShoe https://t.co/vTaygV2kRT

FINALLY A WINNING SEASON @Colts https://t.co/pLDD97pzwk

In a season where many projected the Colts to win 4 games at most, they now have over double that, and Shane Steichen has a winning record in his first season as coach. #ForTheShoe pic.twitter.com/YaZuNZTMYm

Shane Steichen solidifies a winning season in his first year with the Colts.
Inherited a 4 win Colts team that was a mess last season. Lost his starting quarterback early in the year. Still locked in a winning season

#Colts are blasting Lil Wayne’s “Rollin’” in the locker room after today’s win. Another mixtape gem. 🔥🔥🔥 pic.twitter.com/5vZmR08nPq
— James Boyd (@RomeovilleKid) December 31, 2023
Colts offense averaged 9.7 yards per attempt and 4.6 yards per carry against a red hot Raiders defense today.
Really strong showing from Indy’s offense today with Minshew, Pittman Jr, Pierce, Taylor, Downs, and Sermon all making plays when needed
— Zach Hicks (@ZachHicks2) December 31, 2023
Jaguars haven’t clinched anything, but it’s hard seeing them losing to the Titans next week. Colts just need to go out there and handle business against the Texans and let the chips fall where they fall.

No matter how things end up going next weekend the 2023 season was a success. Steichen took a terrible 4-win team and doubled the 2022 win total with a backup QB. I think it's been 5-6 years since I felt this good about the future of the Colts franchise following a season. #Colts pic.twitter.com/u9kD5O1Roq

#Colts/#Texans for the playoffs and potentially the division crown.

As much as missing the playoffs could be a disappointment now, the 2023 #Colts finishing above .500 is slightly insane. Missed games by almost everyone on Offense over the season.
