Colts sign OT and former basketball player to reserve/futures contract

The Indianapolis Colts announced another addition to their 2025 offseason roster, signing offensive tackle Jack Wilson to a reserve/futures contract for the upcoming year.

In addition to adding Wilson, in recent days we’ve seen the Colts sign linebacker Jacob Phillips, along with 14 other players to reserve/futures deals. Indianapolis also signed Segun Olubi and Tyler Goodson to one-year extensions for 2025 as well.

These reserves/futures deals are given to players who are not on the 53-man roster and prevent those players from negotiating and signing with another team. These deals help teams build out their 90-man rosters for offseason programs and training camp.

Wilson spent some time on the Colts’ practice squad during the 2024 season.

Wilson has impressive measurables, listed at 6-11 and weighing 310 pounds. He went undrafted last April out of Minnesota, where he was actually a basketball player in 2023-2024, appearing in seven games.

Before that, Wilson appeared in 25 football games at Washington State, along with playing on their basketball team in 2022-2023.

Wilson also played basketball at Idaho and Oregon State during his collegiate career.

Most of Wilson’s collegiate experience on the football field came on special teams. This isn’t the first time that we’ve seen GM Chris Ballard bring in high-upside, multi-sport athletes to this Colts team.
