The Indianapolis Colts have ruled safety Trevor Denbow out with a knee injury in the team’s Week 8 matchup against the Houston Texans.
Denbow exited the game with what is being reported as a knee injury. He sustained the injury on the opening kickoff of the game.
Denbow, again, is a core special teams player for the Indianapolis Colts. His 140 snaps are the second-most on the team this season and Denbow has accumulated that playing time playing across five different special teams phases, according to Pro Football Focus.
Although Denbow’s role comes on special teams, not having him available does hurt the depth of what is already a thin safety position.
On game-days, the Colts have only four safeties active, so not having Denbow moving forward leaves them with only Nick Cross, Julian Blackmon, and Rodney Thomas available at that position.
