The Indianapolis Colts ruled out three players ahead of the Week 16 matchup against the Atlanta Falcons, the team announced Friday.
Center Jack Anderson (illness), linebacker Segun Olubi (hip) and right tackle Braden Smith (knee) were all ruled out Friday for the road game against the Falcons. None of the three players practiced this week in any capacity.
While Olubi will miss his second consecutive game due to a hip injury, a rough season for Smith continues.
This will be his third consecutive game missed due to a knee injury he sustained in Week 13, in which he only played three snaps. Including Sunday and the Week 13 game, Smith has missed eight games this season.
Replacing Smith at right tackle will be rookie Blake Freeland, who will make his eighth start of the season and sixth at right tackle. The fourth-round pick has played at least 95% of the snaps in 10 games this season.
In other injury news, wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. (concussion) cleared the protocol and will play while running back Jonathan Taylor (thumb) appears ready to return after a three-game absence.
Running back Zack Moss (forearm) didn’t practice all week but was not ruled out Friday. He will be questionable on the final Week 16 injury report, which will be released later Friday.
