The Indianapolis Colts released defensive end Al-Quadin Muhammad and wide receiver Vyncint Smith ahead of Tuesday’s deadline for roster cuts.
Muhammad likely wasn’t going to make the initial roster. The defensive end room was pretty crowded, and he didn’t do a whole lot to separate himself from the competition. Adam Schefter of ESPN first reported the roster move.

Smith had an outside chance to make the roster as the final wide receiver, but it appears that role belongs to Juwann Winfree. The Colts hope to bring Smith back to the practice squad. Joel A. Erickson of The Indianapolis Star was the first to report the roster move.
