The Indianapolis Colts (3-3-1) will open the week as favorites ahead of the Week 8 matchup against the Washington Commanders (3-4) at Lucas Oil Stadium.
Despite the quarterback change taking up the narratives surrounding the Colts, they are still viewed as favorites in this matchup in the eyes of Vegas. According to Tipico Sportsbook, the Colts are favored by less than a field goal to open the week.
Here are the opening odds for the Week 8 matchup:
Spread | Moneyline | Total Points | |
Washington Commanders (3-4) | +2.5 | +120 | O 39.5 -115 |
Indianapolis Colts (3-3-1) | -2.5 | -150 | U 39.5 -105 |
It is a bit surprising that the Colts are favored coming off of a disastrous loss, but it isn’t like the offense can perform much worse than they have in recent weeks. Scoring 10 points against the Tennessee Titans seemed to be the final straw for Matt Ryan as the starter.
Now, the Colts will be rolling with second-year quarterback Sam Ehlinger as the starter under center, hoping that his mobility will add a spark for the offense.
We’ll see how the line changes throughout the week, but the Colts are opening as favorites to bounce back in the win column.
