Colts news: What else happened in the AFC South in Week 8?

The Indianapolis Colts fell to the Houston Texans on Sunday, dropping to 4-4 on the season. But what else happened in the AFC South in Week 8? Let’s take a look.

The Jacksonville Jaguars would fall at home to the Packers 27-30 after a last-second field goal by Green Bay’s Brandon McManus went through the uprights with no time left on the clock.

Trailing 27-17 in the second half and dealing with injuries at the receiver position, Trevor Lawrence led the Jaguars back and tied the game with under two minutes to play. Lawrence finished the day 21-of-32 for 308 yards with two touchdowns and an interception.

However, the defense could not hold up against Malik Willis, who was in for Jordan Love after he exited with a groin injury. A 51-yard completion to Jayden Reed put the Packers in field goal range late.

The Tennessee Titans, meanwhile, faced a difficult road matchup against Detroit and were blown out 52-14. The Lions were an efficient 5-for-5 in the red zone in this game and leaned heavily on the run game with Jared Goff only throwing the ball 15 times for 85 yards, but he did have three touchdowns.

Jahmyr Gibbs would rush for 127 yards on only 11 carries and David Montgomery added 33 additional rushing yards to that total.

Mason Rudolph was at quarterback for the Titans with Will Levis out. Tennessee found success moving the ball with Calvin Ridley totaling 143 receiving yards and Tony Pollard rushing for 94, but going 2-for-4 in the red zone and turning the ball over four times didn’t lead to points.

Following Sunday’s win over the Colts, the Texans now sit at 6-2 overall and have a commanding lead in the division now holding the tie breaker over Indianapolis as well. The Colts are 4-4, the Jaguars are 2-6, and the Titans are 1-6.

Tennessee’s next game will be home against New England. The Colts will travel to Minnesota for a Sunday night football matchup. Jacksonville will be at Philadelphia and Houston will play at the New York Jets.
