The Indianapolis Colts made several roster moves Tuesday after announcing self-imposed suspensions of cornerback Tony Brown and wide receiver Isaiah McKenzie, the team announced Tuesday.
It isn’t clear what led to the suspensions, which were listed due to conduct detrimental to the team. Both Brown and McKenzie were healthy scratches for the Week 15 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers so there is likely a connection.
The Colts announced more roster moves after the suspensions Tuesday, including one player being added to the active roster.
McKenzie, Brown suspended
It isn’t clear why they were suspended but both players will be on the Reserve/Suspended list for the remainder of the regular season.
RB Tyler Goodson promoted
Goodson was promoted from the practice squad to the active roster. He was a practice squad elevation in each of the last three weeks and saw 11 carries for 69 rushing yards in the Week 15 win. The Colts need the depth with the statuses of Zack Moss (shoulder) and Jonathan Taylor (thumb) up in the air for Week 16.
DE Zach McCloud signed to practice squad
McCloud entered the league as an undrafted free agent in 2022. He has spent time with the Tennessee Titans, Arizona Cardinals, Minnesota Vikings and Denver Broncos. He has yet to log a snap in a regular season game.
WR Jaydon Mickens signed to the practice squad
Mickens was an undrafted free agent in 2016. He’s appeared in 38 games (no starts), recording 15 receptions for 145 yards and two touchdowns. His contributions mostly come on special teams. He has 69 career punt returns for 581 yards (8.4 average) and one touchdown. He also has 35 career kick returns for 811 yards (23.2 average).
WR Juwann Winfree signed to the practice squad
Winfree returns to the practice squad after being waived following the activation of defensive tackle Grover Stewart from the suspended list.
G Lewis Kidd released from practice squad
Kidd has been on the practice squad since September but hadn’t been called up yet this season.
