Indianapolis Colts free-agent kicker Chase McLaughlin agreed to terms on a contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, per Greg Auman of FOX Sports on Tuesday.
McLaughlin joined the Colts after the start of the 2022 season in what was his second stint with the team—his first coming in the final month of the 2019 season.
McLaughlin took over for Rodrigo Blankenship, who was waived after a disastrous Week 1 outing. The 26-year-old enjoyed an incredibly strong season, converting 30-of-36 field-goal attempts, including 9-of-12 attempts from 50 yards or more. He also was perfect on 21 extra-point attempts.
McLaughlin also broke the single-season franchise record for most 50-yard field goals, which was previously held by Adam Vinatieri.
Even with his strong campaign, the Colts opted to sign free-agent kicker Matt Gay as their new option. His recent success helped make him one of the highest-paid players at his position.
McLaughlin is the sixth free agent for the Colts to find a new team this offseason.
