Colts’ Drew Ogletree clears concussion protocol

Indianapolis Colts tight end Drew Ogletree was cleared from the concussion protocol and will play against the Houston Texans in Week 2, the team announced Saturday.

Ogletree suffered a concussion during the season opener on a 20-yard reception against the Jacksonville Jaguars. He quickly progressed through the protocol as the week went on, capping the week with a full participation at practice on Friday.

Because he still had to be cleared by the independent neurologist, he was given a questionable tag on the final injury report. However, he was cleared Saturday and the questionable tag was removed.

Ogletree should be active now that he’s been cleared, and he may even see a slightly bigger role due to the fact that fellow tight end Kylen Granson was added to the injury report Saturday due to a hamstring injury. He’s considered questionable to play for the divisional matchup.

If Granson can’t play or is limited due to the injury, we may see the debut of rookie Will Mallory.
