There was a lot of noise around the matchup between Colorado and Colorado State this week. It all started with Colorado State coach Jay Norvell taking a not-so-subtle shot at Colorado coach Deion Sanders for wearing his hat and sunglasses during interviews. Norvell seemed to try to walk back those comments later, but it was too late. Sanders said the game was now “personal” and then he gifted his entire Buffaloes’ team with sunglasses, just to take a jab at Norvell.
Simply put: the rivalry between the Rams and Buffs got dialed up a few notches.
Sanders even mocked Norvell further during Fox’s pregame show, and hosted celebrities like Lil Wayne and Offset on the sidelines during the big game.
But early on, the game wasn’t going Sanders’ way.
And he was the one who wound up getting mocked.
During a second-and-goal situation in the second quarter, Colorado State quarterback Brayden Fowler-Nichols hit Louis Brown for a 15-yard touchdown, giving the Rams the lead over the No. 18 Buffs.
And after scoring, Brown did a little dance that was made famous by Sanders during his days as an NFL cornerback.

Through the first half, Colorado State seemed to back up its big talk, as it led Colorado 21-14 at halftime.
