Colorado entered Saturday night’s game as heavy favorites against Colorado State and almost found themselves on the opposite end of an upset. With the team down eight points on one final drive in the fourth quarter, quarterback Shedeur Sanders led the offense on a 98-yard game-tying drive that eventually led to a double overtime victory and a field-rushing celebration.
After the game, Sanders said he drew inspiration from Tom Brady on his game-saving drive.
“At the two [2-yard line], all I was thinking was Brady mode,” he said. “That’s it. Simple. You left too much time out there.”

The No. 18 Buffaloes won 43–35 via a walk-off interception and it was pure pandemonium after the win. The game was made all the more meaningful when Rams coach Jay Norvell took a shot at Deion Sanders for wearing hats and sunglasses in the week leading up to the matchup, saying, “When I talk to grown-ups, I take my hat off and my glasses off. That’s what my mother taught me.”
As a result, the Colorado coach used it as motivation for his players in the week leading up to the game and it now ends with his son rocking some sunglasses on ESPN.
