Colorado and new coach Deion Sanders are starting from the bottom in 2023. The Buffaloes overhauled virtually their entire roster after going 1–11, a record that tied their worst winning percentage in school history.
In the wake of last season's disaster, however, Colorado's 2023 season opener will offer nothing resembling a respite—and it was confirmed Monday Sanders’s FBS coaching debut will take place in front of a national TV audience.
The Buffaloes are scheduled to begin the '23 season with TCU in Fort Worth, Texas—a year after the Horned Frogs made the College Football Playoff, won the Fiesta Bowl and played for the national championship. The television channel for the opening game was reportedly formalized Monday afternoon, with Andrew Marchand of the New York Post tweeting that the game will be aired on Fox.

The game kicks off a tough opening month for Colorado, which will host Nebraska and Colorado State before commencing Pac-12 play with Oregon in Eugene and USC at home.
TCU defeated the Buffaloes 38–13 last year in Boulder in the first meeting between the two teams.
