There's no one coming to save us. And by that, I mean our public lands. Our politicians have been bought and paid for by mining, extraction, and development industries, and those few politicians with a backbone and an ear hearing that the American public wants these places protected and conserved are completely outgunned. Both in terms of power and capital behind them.
See, despite 90% of Americans agreeing that public lands should exist and be protected, and a couple trillion dollars flowing into the U.S.'s coffers from outdoor recreation, politicians have donors to appease. They have personal and familial interests to uphold. And despite supposedly working for you and I, they don't seem to actually care that they're supposed to answer to you or me. They're going to just do what they want.
