Colorado Governor Polis Responds To Trump's Attacks

Donald Trump to testify in New York civil fraud trial

Democratic Gov. Jared Polis of Colorado recently addressed comments made by Donald Trump during a speech in Aurora, Colorado. Trump criticized Polis, calling him names such as 'coward,' 'fraud,' 'pathetic,' 'weak,' and 'ineffective.' Polis, however, remained unfazed by the attacks, stating that he was glad to divert attention away from Kamala Harris, emphasizing that he is not on the ballot.

During his speech, Trump raised concerns about illegal immigration and made sensationalized claims about Venezuelan gang members in Colorado. He also pledged to use the Alien Enemies Act of 1798 to expedite the removal of undocumented gang members if reelected.

In response, Polis reassured the public that Aurora is a safe place to live and dismissed Trump's exaggerated portrayal of the city. He highlighted Harris' plan to address the border crisis and criticized Trump for obstructing efforts to improve border security.

He acknowledged the existing deportation procedures for individuals posing a national security or public safety threat and mentioned the Department of Homeland Security's efforts to combat transnational gangs.

Overall, Polis emphasized the importance of addressing immigration issues effectively while maintaining public safety. He underscored the need for a comprehensive approach to border security and reiterated his commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of Colorado residents.
