Willie Collum has explained why Camilo Duran's Celtic goal at Tannadice last month was right to stand.
Duran doubled his side's lead in the 4-0 win over Dundee United, but because the ball struck Kasper Hogh's arm in the build up, many argued the strike should have been disallowed.
However, in accordance with the Laws of the Game, Collum, the Scottish FA's Head of Referees, outlined that the goal should have stood.

"It should stand in law, without doubt," he said on the VAR Review Show . "There's absolutely no question about that, because the Celtic player, when it hits his hand, he's not the goalscorer.
"If it hits his hand then he flicks it into the net, then obviously it would be disallowed immediately. But this is no intent, it's not punishable, it's two players sliding in and challenging for a ball, the ball is on ground level, it bounces up and hits the Celtic player's arm.

"The Celtic player is not even looking at the ball here. What's really interesting about this incident, if you go back two or three seasons ago, this would have been disallowed because it's a handball in the build up.
"But this is why the law was changed, because, people were saying, 'This should be a goal that should stand'."
