A 20-year-old man is fighting for his life after a fight in Colliers Wood, south London.
Police and paramedics were called shortly after 8pm on Sunday to the fight on Watermill Way and treated a man at the scene.
His condition remains “life threatening”, police said in an update on Monday.
A man in his early 40s was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm.
A second man has also been arrested in connection with the incident, but police did not say what he had been arrested on suspicion of.
A spokesperson said: “We are aware of social media reports suggesting this incident involved a stabbing. That is not correct.”
Anyone who witnessed the incident and has not spoken to officers is being asked to call 101, giving the reference 6687/09JUL.
