MUMBAI: A college lecturer, Meghna Chotaliya (42), who regularly feeds cats and dogs in Malad and Kandivali areas in suburban Mumbai, was verbally abused and assaulted by a man and his wife at Bhadran Nagar in Malad (west) late on Sunday night for feeding the strays on the road, where their two-wheeler scooter had been parked.
While Chotaliya tried to reason with the couple that she is feeding in a public area (on the road), and that their scooter is parked quite far away from their residence, she was assaulted due to which she fell down on the ground and experienced pain in her neck and legs.
