ESPN’s “College GameDay” announced where it will be for Week 9 of the 2024 college football season. The GameDay team plans to attend the Washington Huskies at Indiana Hoosiers game.
Undefeated Indiana is 7-0 and ranked 13th in the US LBM Coaches Poll. Indiana is a dark horse team to make the College Football Playoff. If the Hoosiers go 4-1 over their final five games, they would almost be a lock to make the playoff.
This will be the first time GameDay has gone to Bloomington, Indiana, for a Saturday game. Other top Week 9 games were Notre Dame at Navy, Illinois at Oregon, Missouri at Alabama, Texas at Vanderbilt and LSU at Texas A&M. Week 9 has a number of sneaky good matchups.
Last week, GameDay was at the Georgia-Texas game. Georgia proved the GameDay crew wrong on the field after everyone on GameDay predicted Georgia would lose.
Indiana’s remaining schedule is at home versus Washington, at Michigan State, versus Michigan, at Ohio State and versus Purdue. Indiana star quarterback Kurtis Rourke is out for the Washington game and may also miss the Michigan game.
GameDay will begin coverage at 9 a.m. ET on Saturday, Oct. 26. Nick Saban, Kirk Herbstreit, Rece Davis, Desmond Howard, Lee Corso and Pat McAfee serve as college football analysts for GameDay. Later in the week, we will know who the guest picker for Washington-Indiana will be.
There’s a chance GameDay will attend two other Georgia football games this fall (at Ole Miss and vs. Tennessee). Ole Miss already has two losses, so that game is probably the less likely of the two. The Tennessee Volunteers earned a massive win over Alabama in Week 8. If the Volunteers and Bulldogs keep winning, GameDay could be heading to Athens for Georgia’s Nov. 16 game against Tennessee.
