We had a less than spectacular night last night despite the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers winning us money over the Georgia State Panthers, the Virginia Tech Hokies let us down in a big way against the West Virginia Mountaineers. I suppose we should take that loss as a lesson that Metalica + Lane Stadium = not very intimidating. With another day, we have another slate, so let’s dive into what Friday has to offer.
Virginia +9.5 Syracuse
The Virginia Cavaliers are 2-1 and are coming off a narrow victory over the Old Dominion Monarchs, Everyone is down on Virginia due to their whipping from Illinois, but I think the Fighting Illini proved that they are a solid team. I want the points with Virginia.
Nevada at Air Force (-24.5)
The Nevada Wolf Pack are coming off a huge loss to the Iowa Hawkeyes and we all know how terrible the Iowa offense is. The Air Force Falcons had a rough loss of their own as the Wyoming Cowboys squeaked by late, but they have the talent to bounce back. I’m laying the points with Air Force.
Boise State -16.5 UTEP
Neither offense brings me confidence, but the UTEP Miners are much worse. They have only eclipsed 13 points once this season and it was when they scored 20 against New Mexico State, but this is the same program that allowed 38 points against Minnesota and 66 points against Wisconsin, which should mean that Air Force will do well.
