Georgia vs. Ohio State
The Bet: Georgia (spread)
Georgia is undoubtedly the best team in college football, and the biggest reason is the stingy Bulldog defense.
Kirby Smart’s squad allowed only four teams all season to crack 20 or more points and held five of its opponents to single-digit scoring outings. Even with Ohio State’s second-highest scoring offense in the nation, led by C.J. Stroud and Marvin Harrison Jr., there’s no reason not to expect Georgia to clamp down the way it did against other elite offenses like Oregon (3 points allowed) and Tennessee (13 points allowed).
While the Bulldogs’ offense isn’t quite as good as the defense, it’s still great and should produce enough to push Georgia over the spread.
Michigan vs. TCU
The Bet: Under
If Georgia’s defense is the best in college football, Michigan’s is right there on its heels. The Wolverines are elite at defending both the run and the pass, which is how they ended the regular season allowing just 13.4 points per game to opponents.
Behind quarterback Max Duggan’s arm, TCU has proved to be as dangerous as any on the offensive end. But quietly, that potent offense slid down the back half of this season. The Horned Frogs finished with under 30 points in three of their last four games, things that are not ideal as they get ready to face one of the nation’s toughest defenses.
Timing is everything and I don’t believe TCU’s offense is in good enough shape to deal with Michigan. They won’t score much and as a result, the final score will fall under BetMGM’s projected total.
