Hot off the back of his recent Oscar nomination, Irish star Colin Farrell has had his odds on becoming the next Bond shaken and stirred from 100/1 to 33/1 with BoyleSports.
The acting legend, who received international praise at the Golden Globes for his most recent film The Banshees of Inisherin, caught the eye of James Bond fans worldwide.
Despite the odds being slashed, former Superman star Henry Cavill remains the favourite to play 007 at 1/4 followed by James Norton at 7/2. Previous favourite Idris Elba has been removed from the betting after he confirmed in Dubai at the World Government Summit that he would not play the role.

If Farrell is chosen to play the role of Ian Fleming’s famed British spy he would become the second Irish actor to play the part. Pierce Brosnan previously played the suave spy in the four films, GoldenEye, Tomorrow Never Dies, The World Is Not Enough and Die Another Day.
Sarah Kinsella, a spokesperson for BoyleSports, said: “This is not the first time we’ve seen support for Colin Farrell to be the next Bond, but it’s the lowest price he has been to date.
“It will take some extra Irish charm though to beat the likes of Henry Cavill and James Norton who head the betting.”
Despite the bookie's odds, the jury is still out on who will play the next bond. Speaking to Variety in 2022, James Bond lead producer Barbara Broccoli, alongside producer Michael G. Wilson, whose family has produced all Bond films since Dr No in 1962, said that the search for the next Bond has been ticking away in the background.
However, the pair, who are half-siblings, added that whoever they find to step into the role will have to be in it for the long haul, as they want whoever steps into the role to take over for 10 to 12 years.
