Celebrations are under way after Colin Farrell won Best Actor and The Banshees of Inisherin snagged multiple awards at the Golden Globes in Beverly Hills.
The Irish black comedy won Best Picture – Musical or Comedy, Best Actor for Colin Farrell, and Best Screenplay for writer-director Martin McDonagh. The movie, which was filmed on Inis Mor and Achill Island, had been nominated for eight awards.
Speaking at the awards ceremony, Farrell said: "Martin McDonagh, I owe you so much, man. 14 years ago you put me working with Brendan Gleeson, my dance partner, and you changed the trajectory of my life in ways that I will begrudgingly be grateful to you for the rest of my days."

The Castleknock man added: "Brendan [Gleeson], I love you so much. I get to cohabitate this creative space with you every day. All I did when I came to work every day was to aspire to be your equal.

Farrell had previously won Best Actor- Musical or Comedy for his performance in McDonagh's In Bruges in 2009. McDonagh had also won an award for his screenplay for Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri in 2018.

Banshees star Barry Keoghan lost out Best Supporting Actor to Everything Everywhere All at Once star Ke Huy Quan. Furthermore, co-star Kerry Condon missed out on Best Supporting Actress category which went to Black Panther: Wakanda Forever's Angela Bassett.
