Former Rep. Colin Allred announced he is dropping out of the race to be the next Democratic candidate for the U.S. Senate in Texas as Jasmine Crockett is expected to announce her bid on Monday.
Allred communicated his decision in a social media post, where he posted a lengthy letter. "I've come to believe that a bruising Senate Democratic primary and runoff would prevent the Democratic Party from going into this critical election unified against the danger posed to our communities and our Constitution by Donald Trump and one of his Republican bootlickers," reads a passage of Allred's message.
