Coleen Rooney 'could bring bailiffs in' if Rebekah Vardy doesn't pay £1.8m legal fees

Coleen Rooney could resort to "embarrassing" measures if Rebekah Vardy doesn’t pay her Wagatha Christie legal fees, it is claimed.

The 37-year-old is owed an eye-watering £1.8 million after Rebekah lost her libel claim when a court ruled she had regularly been passing information about Coleen to the press.

Although Rebekah, 41, still denies the claims, she was ordered to pay 90% of Coleen’s legal fees.

But she is said to be ‘furious’ after being handed a legal bill she claims is 300% more than the original £500,000 sum.

Among the reported expenses is a £2,000 stay in a luxury five-star hotel and a £225 tab for breakfast and drinks at London’s swanky Nobu restaurant.

Now it’s claimed if the mum-of-five doesn’t cough up, Coleen is set to take action to make sure she “gets every penny she is owed”.

As tensions continue to run high between the warring wags, a source told new magazine: “Coleen could be nasty and bring in the bailiffs, which she hasn’t done yet.

“It would be a huge embarrassment for Rebekah. But at the moment she’s just waiting... This fight is not over and she’s determined to get every penny that is owed. She’s wasted enough time and money on this already.”

The insider added it “wasn’t Coleen who wanted to go to court in the first place” but Rebekah “pushed and pushed” – and after losing she must pay up.

The Mirror has contacted reps for Coleen and Rebekah for further comment on this story.

Last week it was revealed Coleen had bagged the September cover of Vogue magazine in what must be another blow to Rebekah.

Mum-of-four Coleen, who is married to football star Wayne Rooney, is said to have already done the photoshoot.

And it is set to hit shelves around the same time her new Disney+ Wagatha Christie documentary airs.

"Bagging such a coveted cover spot on Vogue is an incredible coup for Coleen, and a measure of how her profile has soared in recent years," a source told The Sun .

"It will also be a painful spectacle for Rebekah, who's still smarting from losing the Wagatha libel case last year.

"She actually worked as a fashion model for years before she married footballer Jamie Vardy, and getting the front of the fashion bible is seen as the ultimate ambition for anyone working in the industry."

The Wagatha Christie drama started with the now-infamous tweet Coleen Rooney shared back in 2019.

She revealing she'd carried out a 'sting operation' after believing 'false stories' about her private life had been leaked to the press via Rebekah Vardy’s Instagram account.

Though Rebekah denied it, Coleen had set her as the only person who could see the false stories she was posting, which then mysteriously made it into the newspapers.

Exposing the culprit, Coleen wrote: “For a few years now someone who I trusted to follow me on my personal Instagram account has been consistently informing The Sun newspaper of private posts and stories.”

After explaining she had set a trap, she revealed she had found the person responsible and dropped the bombshell: “It’s Rebekah’s Vardy’s account.”
