Coleen Nolan breaks down in tears on Loose Women over sister Linda's brain cancer diagnosis

Coleen Nolan broke down in tears as she discussed her sister Linda's brain cancer diagnosis on Monday.

The Loose Women presenter was joined by her co-stars Ruth Langsford, Janet Street-Porter and Brenda Edwards on the ITV chat-show as she discussed the heartbreaking diagnosis. Coleen, 58, praised her sister's strength before being overcome with emotion.

She said: "Her positivity rubs off on you. You hear her talk and she's positive about it so it makes you stronger."

Speaking about how her sister's diagnosis had impacted her, Coleen added: "It's so weird because even since Monday I haven't cried because I've felt really numb. I've just thought I'm so sick of it because it attacks my family all the time and, I know a lot of people, but selfishly you think of your family.

"And I haven't.... I'm scared of crying because I don't think I'll stop." Her eyes begin to fill up and her voice wobbled as she said: "I'm going to cry now so can you move on?"

Coleen took a deep breath as her fellow co-stars supported her, while Ruth handed her a box of tissues which she used to wipe away her tear soaked eyes.

This comes after her sister Linda appeared on Monday's instalment of Good Morning Britain, and announced that her incurable cancer had now spread to her brain. The Irish singer told Richard Madeley and Susanna Reid that while her cancer has spread, she vows to make the most of every day.

She said: "Unfortunately, sadly for me, my cancer has now spread to my brain, which I only found out on Monday.

"I've always been honest and I just wanted people to know that's the situation and I'm not giving up, I'm positive. I'm going to lose my hair, again, for the fourth time. My sister said: 'At least you've got some nice wigs now.'

"As usual, my amazing family – I’m back living with my sister Denise and her partner Tom and Maureen has been looking after me for the last two weeks, just with balance issues, getting everything," she continued.

"I've bought a wheelchair, we're getting stuff ready for the inevitable really. It's a scary trip to be on this one."
