Rangers starlet Cole McKinnon is a target for Newcastle United, according to a report. The highly-rated teenager is currently on loan at Partick Thistle and scored in the win over Arbroath at the weekend – his second goal for the Jags.
McKinnon made his top team debut for his boyhood heroes in the final Scottish Premiership game of last season when he came off the bench after an hour to score the final goal in a 3-1 win over Hearts. He even got a tattoo of a pocket watch with the date and time as a permanent reminder of his dream debut.
The Ibrox kid was rewarded with a new deal which he signed to keep him at the club until at least 2025 and later moved to Firhill on loan. But now, according to the Scottish Sun, the Magpies are keen on him and are even considering a move in the next transfer window.
Cambuslang kid McKinnon has previously had a loan spell at East Fife and was named Rangers B side player of the year last campaign while playing in the Lowland League, UEFA Youth League and SPFL Trust Trophy.
