Met Eireann has said it is likely to turn colder than recent days again at the weekend as we head into 2023.
The weather is to remain unsettled this week with widespread wind, rain and even some sleet in places on Wednesday and Thursday.
Tuesday night will be dry at first with a few showers, mainly in the northwest, and clear spells along with some pockets of mist and fog.

However, Met Éireann predicts: "A spell of rain will move in from the southwest overnight, extending across all but the north and east by morning. Lowest temperatures of 1 to 5 degrees, but becoming much milder in the south by morning as winds freshen."
It will be a wet start too on Wednesday morning but the rain is due to clear heading into the afteroon.
However, it's not good news as "widespread showers will follow, prolonged and heavy in places, with a chance of isolated thunderstorms.
"Southwest winds will increase fresh to strong and gusty with very strong gusts possible along Atlantic coasts later in the day. Highest temperatures of 9 to 11 degrees."
Wednesday night too will bring widespread showers, heavy at times, with fresh or strong and gusty west to southwest winds. Some clearer periods too, especially later in the night for areas away from the northwest. Lowest temperatures of 3 to 6 degrees.
Thursday could even bring sleet.
Met Éireann said it will be "a breezy and showery day with the odd sleet shower possible in the north. Occasional bright spells too. Fresh southwest winds will likely ease during the afternoon. Afternoon highs of 5 to 8 degrees.
"Becoming windy again [Thursday night] as strong southerly winds develop, accompanied by rain that may be heavy in places. Lowest temperatures of 0 to 5 degrees, coldest in the north early in the night with temperatures rising overnight."
The forecast for Friday and beyond is somewhat more uncertain.
Met Éireann says for Friday: "Uncertain in the details but indications show it will be windy for a time with fresh to strong southwest winds, easing later in the day. There will likely be showers or longer spells of rain. Afternoon highs of 6 to 9 degrees.
"There is a lot of uncertainty for next weekend, but low pressure will likely bring another spell of rain or further showers. Possibly becoming a little colder too," they concluded.
