During a recorded conversation with former President Donald Trump, his former lawyer Michael Cohen revealed that he advised against using cash to repay American Media Inc. (AMI) for the Karen McDougal transaction. Instead, Cohen suggested making the payment by check to give the appearance of a legitimate transaction.
Cohen expressed his reluctance to continue recording the conversation, stating that he had already gathered enough evidence to show David Pecker, the CEO of AMI, in order to convince him that the $150,000 payment would be returned.
Trump, who was reading papers during the conversation, shook his head in response to Cohen's statements.
