Fast food, fast coffee - yes or no? Sorry for the blunt question, but a recent post on the Facebook Canberra Noticeboard has got us thinking.
The poster was bemoaning the fact her local McDonald's had been inexplicably closed that morning and she'd been unable to get her coffee fix. She wanted to know, specifically, why the branch, claiming to be open 24 hours, was in fact closed. But the comments devolved predictably into a debate over the merits or lack thereof of McDonald's coffee.
It raises questions, the first being - McDonald's coffee in a place like Canberra? With all our superior cafes and local roasters and award-winning baristas?
