Sep arabica coffee (KCU23) Monday closed down -1.05 (-0.65%), and Sep ICE robusta coffee (RMU23) closed down -45 (-1.72%).
Coffee prices Monday settled moderately lower on the outlook for dry conditions in Brazil to speed up the pace of the country's coffee harvest. Somar Meteorologia reported Monday that Brazil's Minas Gerais region received+0.1 mm of rain in the previous week, only 2% of the historical average. Minas Gerais accounts for about 30% of Brazil's arabica crop. The dry conditions should further boost the pace of the Brazil coffee harvest.
