Over 170 suspects have been arrested and charged since new coercive control legislation was introduced in February, new figures reveal.
The Police Service of Northern Ireland have reported that they are receiving, on average, over 100 reports a month of domestic abuse with controlling and coercive behaviours.
These figures form part of the Police Service’s Domestic Abuse messaging throughout National Domestic Violence Awareness Month, to raise awareness that Domestic Abuse is not just physical, encourage reporting and signposting victims to support available to them.
