Robin van Persie has already told Liverpool that Cody Gakpo isn't an "out-and-out striker" after the Reds struck a deal for the talented attacker on Boxing Day.
PSV confirmed that they had agreed a deal with Liverpool for Gakpo after the Reds hijacked Manchester United's move for the Netherlands international. Erik ten Hag was reportedly keen on bringing the 23-year-old to Old Trafford, but the Reds had other ideas and stole the forward from their grasp.
The Dutch club announced that Gakpo will be joining the Reds in a club-record move in an initial fee worth around £37million, with the deal expected to rise to £45m. With Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota currently out injured, Jurgen Klopp needed to act in the transfer market and will feel that Gakpo will slot straight into the side after the New Year.
Having played in a number of positions for his club and country, Gakpo is a versatile attacker and Van Persie has revealed where his best place lies in the team. Gakpo has scored an impressive 14 goals in 23 appearances for PSV in all competitions this season, before he struck four goals at the World Cup as Netherlands reached the quarter-final.
"He is a good player and always finds a way in most games to have an influence, in terms of getting an assist or scoring a goal," Van Persie told BT Sport in October. "He is always dangerous.
"He is not really an out-and-out striker; he can play as a No.10, on the [left] wing, as a false striker or on the right-wing. He can play in those four positions in the front.
"He has a good physique. He is strong, fast and can dribble. He is an all-round player."

Gakpo is set to reunite with Virgil van Djik in the Liverpool side after the pair competed together for the Dutch in Qatar. The centre-back hinted the Reds were looking at signing players in January - a matter of hours before the move was confirmed by PSV on Monday evening.
He said: "Hopefully the injured players can come back soon, and hopefully we can welcome some new players at our football club. We will see, I think that quality is always welcome at Liverpool."
Gakpo started his senior career at Jong PSV, the club's reserve side, before working his way up and cementing his place in the first-team set-up in 2019. He has since chipped in with an impressive 55 goals in 159 appearances and helped PSV reach the quarter-final of the Europa Conference League last campaign.
