Award-winning chippy, the Cod's Scallops, has announced the opening date of its latest fish and chip shop. The company will be launching its sixth chippy at the new Wilford Lane Retail Park in West Bridgford as part of the £20m redevelopment.
It will throw open its doors on Monday, April 11 "if there are no unexpected hiccups" because construction has progressed quicker than expected. The shop will be similar to branches in Carrington, Wollaton, Long Eaton, Market Harborough and Harborne near Birmingham, with takeaway and a restaurant.
As well as the standard haddock and cod, fish lovers will be in for a treat with a wide variety to choose from such as monkfish, salmon and sea bass and shellfish including lobster, crab, cockles and oysters. Prize-winning pies are also on the menu, plus healthier options such as baked fish and potato salad. And at Christmas battered Brussels sprouts are always a great divider.
