CoD players criticize Modern Warfare 4 Beta matchmaking system and disbanding lobbies

Call of Duty players have voiced their frustration with Activision’s matchmaking plans for the Modern Warfare 4 Beta, with the return of skill-based matchmaking (SBMM) and disbanding lobbies coming out as two major points of concern.

Activision confirmed that the MW4 Beta, starting on Aug. 21 with an Early Acces period, will test its updated matchmaking system alongside an Open Matchmaking option. The developer wants to compare the two approaches and collect more data before Modern Warfare 4 officially launches on Oct. 23.
