Cocoa Settles Sharply Lower as Dollar Strength Spurs Long Liquidation

March ICE NY cocoa (CCH25) Thursday closed down -538 (-4.61%), and March ICE London cocoa #7 (CAH25) closed down -169 (-1.85%).

Cocoa prices Thursday closed sharply lower as a rally in the dollar index (DXY00) to a 2-year high spurred long liquidation in cocoa futures.  Losses in London cocoa were limited Thursday after the British pound (^GBPUSD) fell to an 8-1/4 month low, boosting cocoa priced in terms of sterling.
