Cocoa Prices Fall as Improved Weather in West Africa Sparks Fund Liquidation

Sep ICE NY cocoa (CCU23) on Thursday closed -37 (-1.11%), and Sep ICE London cocoa #7 (CAU23) closed -5 (-0.19%).

Cocoa prices Thursday posted moderate losses, with NY cocoa dropping to a 6-week low. Cocoa prices have been under pressure the past three sessions on fund liquidation sparked by reports that heavy rain has ended and weather conditions improved in West Africa, benefitting cocoa crop growth and fieldwork.
