Coca-Cola Christmas Truck Tour set to return to Glasgow this week with stop at Silverburn

We've been waiting for a while now for Coca-Cola to announce when the Christmas Truck Tour would be returning to Scotland after its first stop in Paisley last month, and finally, we have a second date for Glasgow.

The soft drinks giant is bringing in the Holidays with their famous tour and they've just announced the big festive red truck is making its return to the city with a two-day stop in Silverburn.

Back bigger and better than before, on December 16 and 17, the iconic tour will be hitting the Silverburn shopping centre from 11.30 am with a magical ‘winter market’ setting, featuring fun activities and games for all of the family to get involved with.

Lovers of the festive season can enjoy plenty of fun, with 'Elfie Selfies', photos with the truck, QR codes giving access to a load of interactive games and of course, food huts serving up tasty treats.

Visitors will also have the opportunity to purchase Coca-Cola Zero Sugar and Coca-Cola Original Taste and have them personalised with their name or short phrase – the ideal gift for a loved one or special keepsake.

Location: Silverburn Shopping Centre, Barrhead Rd, Glasgow G53 6AG

Time: From 11:30 am

This year, you can feel even better about your visit, after it was revealed this year's theme is “Your Presence is Your Present”, which sees Coca-Cola teaming up with charity Fareshare to help to support those experiencing food poverty.

The firm say they will donate the equivalent of up to 100,000 meals to those in need throughout the festive season, with every person that attends the Coca-Cola Truck Tour, seeing Coca-Cola fund the equivalent of one meal for a person in need.

The ambition is to fund the total equivalent of 200,000 meals.

CEO at FareShare, Lindsay Boswell, said: “We’re incredibly grateful for the support from Coca-Cola. Their donation will help us get more good-to-eat surplus food to people across the UK most impacted by the cost of living crisis.

"We hope as many people visit the Coca-Cola Truck Tour this Christmas so that we can get more food to people who need it during what are challenging times for many.”

Senior Brand Manager at The Coca-Cola Company, Laura Moon, said: “Coca-Cola has always been synonymous with Christmas, particularly the iconic Truck Tour and Holidays Are Coming advert.

"This year, the magic of Christmas is needed more than ever, and we are excited to bring back our famous truck tour to fans nationwide.

“We’re also extremely pleased to continue our relationship with FareShare and for every person that visits the Truck Tour, we’ll donate the equivalent of a meal on their behalf, supporting those most in need this festive season.”

As always, Glasgow Live will let you know any more dates as soon as we find out.
