A Coatbridge women lost half her body weight after being diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes, dropping nine stone.
Jennifer Marshall, 41, went from 18st 6lbs to 9st 6lbs after being terrified by her health diagnosis. She vowed to change her life during the lockdown of 2020 after years of struggling with her weight.
The retail manager said replacing the takeaways she would have four times a week for fakeaways helped to keep cravings at bay.

She told the Daily Record: "I was diagnosed with diabetes and it really scared me. I knew I couldn't go on the way I had been.
"I'm a full time carer for my gran and I struggled with her personal care and day to day things because of my weight. I couldn't give her the care she needed. I was constantly tired and had no energy.
"Before, I would skip breakfast or maybe have a chocolate bar and grab food on the go but it wasn't the healthiest. I would have about four takeaways a week.
"Now instead of chocolate I will fill up on veg and protein so that helped me not snack as I wasn't hungry. It really is the little changes that make a difference."
Jennifer said she "stayed in the background" due to feeling insecure about herself but is now much more comfortable in her own skin.
She will now begin running her own Slimming World group in Stepps and hopes to inspire others by offering them the same vital information she received at the group she attended in Airdrie.
Jennifer said: "My sugar levels are now back to normal and I have so much more energy.
"I am starting my own Slimming World group in January and I am so excited. My weight loss has changed my life and I can't wait to help other people."
Dr Jacquie, Special Advisor on the Science of Weight Management at Slimming World said: “The power of the peer support members give one another is what sets Slimming World apart.
"Members become part of a community, which helps them to realise that they’re not alone in the challenges they face. That’s combined with a personalised approach which helps every member discover more about themselves as a slimmer, identify their own pitfalls and danger zones, and create plans to overcome them.
"As well as following the healthy eating plan which enables you to still eat the foods you love and become more active at your own pace, members are encouraged to dig deep into what motivates them, and to set realistic weekly goals to help them achieve their weight loss targets."
