Coatbridge murder bid leaves man with serious injuries after car deliberately driven at him

Police are appealing for information following an attempted murder in Coatbridge.

The incident saw a dark coloured saloon car deliberately driven at a 57-year-old man around 11pm on Sunday (January 23) in Doune Terrace near to the roundabout at the junction with Lomond Road in the town.

He sustained serious leg and back injuries and was taken to Monklands hospital. His current condition is described as stable.

It is believed there were two or three men in the car which drove off in the direction of Lomond Road and officers are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen what happened.
