As Hurricane Milton barrels towards the Florida coast, residents in its path are making the decision to evacuate to safer areas. Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer has reported that individuals from coastal regions are seeking refuge in Orlando, where hotel rooms are still available.

Mayor Dyer emphasized the stark contrast in hurricane intensity, noting that Orlando is expected to be hit by a Category 1 hurricane, while coastal areas face the threat of a Category 3 or Category 4 hurricane. This discrepancy has prompted many to seek shelter in Orlando.

Despite the availability of hotel rooms in Orlando, Mayor Dyer cautioned that time is running out for safe travel. He advised that by mid-afternoon, the weather conditions will deteriorate significantly, making travel increasingly hazardous.

Orlando's emergency personnel are on high alert as they prepare to monitor the impacts of Hurricane Milton throughout the night. Mayor Dyer expressed confidence in the city's readiness, commending residents for taking the storm seriously and following evacuation protocols.

As the hurricane approaches, Orlando finds itself in a state of anticipation and readiness. The city's officials and residents are bracing for the impending storm, with emergency services standing by to respond to any potential impacts.
