A Co Tyrone woman has scored top marks in her accounting exams despite being on the other side of the world.

Emma Harpur was awarded the highest marks in the country in the Irish national accountancy exams despite taking them whilst living in Australia.

The 23-year-old from Castlederg, now based in Melbourne, opted for the Accounting Technicians Ireland (ATI) Higher Level Apprenticeship after a hat-trick of A grade A-Levels at Castlederg High School, despite being accepted to Queens University Belfast to study for an Actuarial Sciences and Risk Management Degree.
