Co-op issues message to shoppers who buy milk amid cost of living crisis

Shoppers are being urged to change where they store their milk at home in a bid to reduce waste as the cost of living crisis continues. Co-op are introducing a new label on their own brand milk products asking customers to ‘freeze me’.

It comes as figures from leading sustainability experts WRAP highlight that more than more than £150 million worth of milk is wasted each year - 90 per cent of which is milk wasted in everyday households.

The Co-op hopes that encouraging customers to store their milk in the freezer will help cut down on the 70,000 tonnes of milk wasted annually.
