The chairman of local GAA club Erne Gaels in Belleek has expressed his disgust after an act of vandalism at the club’s grounds over the weekend.
A car was driven through the pitch in the early hours of Sunday morning at the club on Commons Road in the town. Damage was caused to a set of goalposts at the pitch.
Club chairman Peter McMahon said it was disheartening to see the damage caused and urged anyone who saw anything to contact the police.

“Part of our grounds team were going down yesterday morning to tidy up the area for the week ahead when they came across the damage,” Peter said.
"It was disheartening to see the damage that was done to the facilities here. We are all volunteers here and we put in the time to look after the club.
"We were hosting a summer camp there this week and it would have been disappointing to have any kids or parents turn up to see that."
A post on the club's Facebook page said it was 'disgusted' at the act of vandalism.
"Last night some smart person thought it would be funny to drive a car on to our football field and cause significant damage to our goal posts/grounds," the post said.
"We have CCTV so to the person that caused this damage. Please get in touch ASAP or else the police will be getting involved.
"We are absolutely disgusted that someone done this. We are very lucky to have a team of volunteers that maintain our grounds and keep them in good condition for our young people & adults."
Local SDLP councillor John Coyle called on those responsible to come forward and pay for repairs to the pitch.
“I absolutely condemn this disgusting behaviour damaging Erne Gaels sports grounds. Causing hundreds, if not thousands of pounds worth of damages,” Cllr Coyle said in a statement.
“I ask individuals involved to own up and pay for damages they caused. The club is run by volunteers and gives their time free to our community. Maintenance happens every week so the grounds are kept to the highest standards for all players and visitors.”
