Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will inaugurate the National SARAS Mela at the Kanakakkunnu grounds at 6 p.m. on Wednesday.
Twenty States, including Kerala, will participate in the seventh SARAS Mela to be organised by the Kudumbashree in the city. A 60,000 sq.ft. pavilion with 237 stalls will welcome visitors. Of this, 62 stalls will be for entrepreneurs from other States, and the rest for those from Kerala. More than 600 entrepreneurs are expected to participate in the fair that features products reflecting the culture and traditions of various States. The fair will conclude on April 10.
Traditional handicrafts, apparel, jewellery, leather products, household equipment can be purchased directly from the entrepreneurs without the involvement of middlemen.
Cultural programmes presented by Kudumbashree members and artistes from Kerala and other States, and seminars and discussions will be held on all days. Entry is free.
