CHANDIGARH: Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar said on Wednesday that an announcement for giving reservation in the promotion to the Scheduled Caste employees (Class-I and Class-II) in the state on the pattern of the central government by the central government's notification and Supreme Court's decisions were made on June 12, 2022, in Rothak.
Now the decision of the Supreme Court in several cases regarding this issue is yet to come and once whatever decision is pronounced, then all the procedures related to this issue will be completed and the same will be implemented within three months.
The chief minister was replying to a question asked by MLA Bishambhar Singh regarding reservation in promotion to Scheduled Caste employees (Class-I and Class-II) in the state during the question hour on the third day of the Monsoon session of the State's Vidhan Sabha today.
The chief minister said that in one of the decisions pronounced by the Supreme Court it has been said that promotion should be done group-wise or cadre-wise.
The decision regarding reservation in group and cadre is yet to come. Also, LR's opinion was taken on whether reservation in the promotion can be implemented before the decision of the Supreme Court and then the LR had advised the state government to wait for the decision of the Supreme Court, said Khattar.
The CM said that comprehensive consultation and legal advice of the advocate general is also being sought in this matter.
He said that the next hearing of the cases related to this matter in the Supreme Court is scheduled for August 17, 2022.
As soon as the decision comes, we will implement the same within three months after completing all the procedure and verification process. The reservation in the promotion to the Scheduled Caste employees (Class-I and Class-II) in Haryana will certainly be done on the familiar pattern of the central government, he assured.
