CHENNAI: BJP state president K Annamalai on Saturday said chief minister M K Stalin and his cabinet colleagues regularly skipped the meetings convened by the Central government but still went on to preach cooperative federalism. The BJP leader also listed dates and meetings, and claimed that the state ministers and department secretaries did not attend those meetings.
Responding to the chief minister a few days ago writing to Prime Minister Narendra Modi requesting him to convene the inter-state council at least thrice a year, Annamalai said several new councils, comprising representation from state and Central governments, had been regularly convened in the past eight years.
He said the inter-state council did not meet even once when the UPA, of which the DMK was a part, was in power from 2006 to 2014.
